HOPE International vice president to speak at NWC

Chris Horst, vice president of development at HOPE International, will speak during Northwestern College’s chapel service on Tuesday, April 12, at 11:05 a.m. in Christ Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.
Since 2006, Horst has served in a number of roles within HOPE, including as the organization’s director of development, director of advancement, regional representative, human resources manager and executive assistant. As vice president of development, Horst is responsible for coordinating fundraising efforts across the country as a member of the organization’s executive team, with a goal of raising $12 million annually.
In addition to his role at HOPE, Horst also serves on the boards of the Denver Institute for Faith and Work and the Colorado Microfinance Alliance. He and HOPE International CEO Peter Greer co-wrote “Mission Drift: The Unspoken Crisis Facing Leaders, Charities and Churches,” which was named a 2015 leadership book of the year by both Christianity Today and WORLD Magazine.
Horst holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Taylor University in Upland, Ind., and an M.B.A. from Bakke Graduate University in Dallas.
HOPE International is a nonprofit organization focused on alleviating physical and spiritual poverty through Christ-centered microenterprise development. HOPE International now operates in 17 underserved countries and has assisted hundreds of thousands of people through over 2.7 million loans totaling more than $800 million since it began operations in 1997.
