Hoey helps launch e-journal of faith-based distance learning

Dr. Rebecca Hoey, director of Northwestern College Graduate School & Adult Learning programs, is co-editor of a new online journal, NET: An e-Journal of Faith-Based Distance Learning.

The peer-reviewed journal is published by the Council of Distance Learning Directors of Theological Education, an organization Hoey belongs to. She shares editorial oversight with Dr. David May, professor of New Testament and director of online curriculum design at Central Baptist Theological Seminary in Sewanee, Kan.

The first issue of NET was posted in December and includes an article by Hoey and Dr. Fawn McCracken: “Compensation and Ownership: The Current State of Online Course Development at Christian Colleges.” McCracken is the dean of the School of Online Studies and Graduate School at Crown College, Saint Bonifacius, Minn.

Hoey has been director of Northwestern’s Graduate School & Adult Learning programs since 2011. Among Northwestern’s online offerings for adult students are Master of Education degrees and an RN to BSN degree-completion program as well as programs in coaching and international development.
