High school thespians invited to explore NWC theatre

High school seniors interested in theatre are invited to Northwestern College Theatre Preview Days on Feb. 15 and 16.

On Friday, in addition to meeting with Northwestern admissions and financial aid staff, students interested in theatre will visit an acting class and show rehearsal. They will also tour the DeWitt Theatre Arts Center and other campus facilities.

In the evening, students will attend Northwestern theatre’s performance of Terror Texts, a new musical based on horror stories of the Old Testament by theatre professor Jeff Barker. Afterward visitors are invited to join Northwestern theatre students as they have fun with improv and theatre games.

On Saturday morning, students will meet with theatre faculty and have the opportunity to audition for theatre scholarships. Scholarships are available for performance, technical and stage management roles in Northwestern theatre. Awards range from $1,500 to $2,000 annually and are based on candidates’ theatre skill, experience and plans to be actively involved in Northwestern theatre.

Parents are invited to attend the Theatre Preview Days too.
