Violinist to present student recital

Northwestern College senior Aubrey Weger of Huron, S.D., will present a violin recital on Sunday, Jan. 20, at 3 p.m. in Christ Chapel. The public is invited to attend; no admission will be charged.

Weger, a music education and violin performance major, will perform four pieces. She will open with Mozart’s Adagio in E Major, K. 261. She will also play Eugene Ysaye’s Sonata No. 4, Op. 27; Niccolo Paganini’s 24 Caprices for Solo Violin, Op. 1, No. 9 and 11; and Tchaikovsky’s Concerto in D Major, Op. 35, movt. 1.

Weger will be accompanied by Lori Vande Brake, staff accompanist. Weger is the student of Dr. Eunho Kim, lecturer in music at Northwestern and concertmaster violinist for the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra.

At Northwestern, Weger is involved with several musical activities, including Symphonette, String Quartet, A cappella Choir and Heritage Singers.

Weger will be student teaching in Le Mars during the spring semester. She plans to pursue graduate studies for violin performance next year.
