Four Northwestern history majors spoke at the 41st annual Student History Conference, sponsored by the Phi Alpha Theta history honors society at the University of South Dakota, Vermillion, on April 20.

Andrew Bardole, a senior from Ogden, Iowa, presented a paper, “Malcolm X,” as part of a biography session.

Kristin Erickson, a senior from Mount Horeb, Wis., presented a paper, “Worthington, Minnesota: A Surprisingly Ethnically Diverse Midwestern City,” as part of a session on regional history.

Two Northwestern students—Gina Boyd, a sophomore from Chariton, Iowa, and Sarah Larson, a sophomore from Meade, Kan.,—each offered comments on papers.
