Arnold Carlson Art Exhibition: "Explaining Images to a Dead Rabbit"

Arnold Carlson, a Northwestern College art professor, will conduct a performance piece in Northwestern’s Te Paske Gallery Friday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m. Entitled “Explaining Images to a Dead Rabbit,” the piece will involve additional performers and participants from the immediate community invited to accompany Carlson.

Central to the event and its related objects are the exploration of the process of creating images, the nature of images, community dynamics, and non-theatrical performance as described by Kaprow. Objects used as a part of the performance will be on display in the gallery Feb. 9–22.

Carlson holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Memphis College of Art in Memphis, Tenn., as well as bachelor’s degrees in visual arts and biblical studies from Northwestern College in Roseville, Minn.. His art has been featured in exhibitions in Tennessee, Michigan and Maine.
