Shape Note/Sacred Harp Sing

This service features shape note music, an American tradition begun in the Southeast as a way to teach people to read so they could sing hymns better in church. The tradition has continued because it fosters faith with deep and meaningful hymns, it fosters musicality by encouraging people to sing and read music, and it fosters fellowship with the fun of creating music together as the body of Christ.

Books will be provided; no musical experience is necessary. Chapel credit is offered.
