Martha (Perez) Draayer leads Northwestern’s Bridge Center and encourages intercultural student development by mentoring, supporting and teaching students from underrepresented groups. She previously worked as a bilingual early childhood special education teacher and consultant for the Northwest Area Education Agency.

Professor Draayer specializes in early childhood special education. With bachelor's and master's degrees in early childhood special education as well as secondary education, psychology and Spanish, Draayer is certified to teach preschool and kindergarten special education, K-12 Spanish and English as a second language, as well as psychology for grades 5-12.
