Through online, 8-week classes, students log into their courses to complete assignments each week on their own schedule. Courses are designed with built-in adaptive and collaborative learning experiences that incorporate global perspectives. Students will examine case studies to learn how both theory and practical skills can be immediately applicable to their own work.
The MBA program is designed for working professionals and the curriculum is intended to be flexible. The program can be completed in as little as one year (3 semesters) or spread out into two years (6 semesters).
Professional preparation
Northwestern's MBA is designed to prepare students to be outstanding professionals in the setting of their choice and is aligned with the standards and competencies of the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (
IACBE). The program will apply for IACBE accreditation during the 2025-26 academic year.
Application requirements
No GRE required. No GMAT required. No application fee.
- Official transcripts showing a degree from an accredited institution in any of the following disciplines: accounting, economics, finance, or business administration.
- Applicants with a degree in a non-business discipline, but have completed at least 12 credit hours in any of the topics above, will be considered as satisfying the discipline requirement.
- Applicants who cannot satisfy the above requirement must: (1) earn a 590 or above on the GMAT, or (2) take and earn a 70% or higher on an exam issued by the Business and Economics department, or (3) take and pass an online refresher course.

- Minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Applicants with a GPA between 2.7 and 3.0 may be eligible for conditional admission.
- Applicants with a GPA below 2.7 will not be considered for admission.
- International applicants with GPAs not measured on a 4.0 scale will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
- Students who are not from an English-speaking country or did not receive their baccalaureate degree in an English-speaking country will be required to demonstrate English proficiency with either a TOEFL score of 90 or above or an IELTS score of 6.5 or above.
Alumni Grant - MBA Program
The Alumni Grant is available to Northwestern College alumni who completed either their undergraduate or a graduate degree through Northwestern. Alumni wishing to pursue their Master of Business Administration degree online at NWC can apply a tuition discount of 50% for their first course.
Program Requirements
Throughout the 33 credit MBA program, students will learn leadership principles such as, how to motivate people and how to serve as authentic, self-aware leaders who utilize a Christian perspective. Students will effectively integrate theory and practice to develop effective strategies to overcome challenges and find opportunities in the business environment.
Graduates of the MBA program are required to complete eight core courses and three electives. Students are required to maintain a minimum of a 3.0 GPA throughout the program to be eligible for graduation.
Courses
Required (24 credits):
ACC 502 - Accounting for Managers
This course incorporates the fundamentals of both financial and managerial accounting. Students will develop the essential ability of all managers, to use complex accounting information as a platform for decision-making. Topics include income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, budgeting, cost-volume-profit analysis, differential analysis, budgeting, and internal reporting using accounting information and various analytical tools. This course focuses on interpreting financial statements and internal accounting information in the decision-making process and communicating accounting information to various stakeholders. (3 credits)
BUS 504 - Corporate Finance
This course will cover the two quintessential corporate finance topics: capital structure and capital budgeting. In other words, should I get money through equity or debt, and what should we spend it on? We will also discuss payout policy and stock and bonds valuation. This course will prepare candidate to make sensible capital allocation decisions with the company?s stakeholders and make reasonable valuation determinations in the merger and acquisition process. (3 credits)
ECO 515 - Economics of the Firm
This course focuses on applications of microeconomics and game theory in managerial decision-making. Topics include supply and demand, regression analysis of demand, pricing strategies, business strategies, decision-making under uncertainty, and selected topics in behavioral economics. Students will analyze business environments, resource allocation, and strategic interactions from economic perspectives. (3 credits)
BUS 575 - Data and Decisions
The course is designed to build competencies in applied statistics and research as applied to workplace decisions, problems, and opportunities. Students will learn how to analyze data and make decisions. Students will also practice data-driven decision-making in marketing, finance and management. We focus on basic descriptive and inferential techniques. Topics may include descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, linear and logistic regression models, factor and discriminant analysis, and forecasting. (3 credits)
BUS 525 - Marketing
The course focuses on formulating and implementing marketing management strategies and tactics. The course relates marketing principles to consumer and business actions. Students will learn to develop a marketing strategy and select the appropriate tactics for successful implementation and value delivery their target market. (3 credits)
BUS 523 - Operations and Supply Chain Management
This course focuses on how to plan and make decisions that optimize operations in manufacturing as well as in services. Topics include delivery strategy, process design, capacity, and supply chain. Students will learn specific ways in which operations and supply chain management provide a competitive advantage in the marketplace. (3 credits)
BUS 512 - Organizational Leadership
This course explores a range of modern leadership principles and their influence on team and organizational dynamics. Topics include organizational motivation, leadership, and teamwork, as well as organizational culture, design, and change. The philosophical framework of servant leadership will be particularly emphasized throughout the course. (3 credits)
BUS 603 - Strategic Management
Strategic management explore how firms build and sustain their superior competitive positions and achieve long-term profitability. This course develops an integrated view of the firm, encompassing functional areas such as management, marketing, accounting, and finance. It focuses on case studies, simulations, and lectures/presentations to help understand the changing dynamics of strategy. Implementation for large and small business entities will be examined. (3 credits)

BUS 584 - Financial Statement Analysis
This course will provide students with hands-on experience analyzing financial statements. Students will learn about the general tools, theoretical concepts, and practical valuation issues of financial analysis. By the end of the course, students should be comfortable using firms' financial statements (along with other information) to assess firm performance and make reasonable valuation estimates. (3 credits)
BUS 515 - Organizational Change
This course focuses on how organizations change, and how to be a change agent in an organization. It emphasizes the forces for change, the change implementation process, the qualities and skills of successful change agents, and the behavioral theory of how individuals and organizations change. (3 credits)
BUS 505 - Project Management
This course equips students with essential project management skills through a business analysis perspective. Students will examine key project management knowledge areas (such as scope, schedule, cost, stakeholder, communication, and risk) and formulate a business analysis mindset. The course includes evaluating AI-generated project management plans and emphasizes ethical decision-making guided by Christian principles, preparing students to navigate real-world business scenarios with integrity and expertise. (3 credits)
BUS 550 - Entrepreneurship and Innovation
The course equips students with the tools and concepts necessary for careers as entrepreneurs or as investors in entrepreneurial ventures. It prepares entrepreneurially minded students with a valuable understanding of venture capital, private equity, social entrepreneurship, and small businesses. Topics include marketing for entrepreneurs, entrepreneurial finance, private equity, managing family businesses, managing growth, and social entrepreneurship. (3 credits)
BUS 538 - Digital Marketing
In this course, students will learn the essentials of digital marketing channels (display, search, and social media, content marketing), explore the impact of key technologies and trends in the digital marketing industry, and learn how to data to accurately profile and target customers. (3 credits)
