Cindy Barwick is the middle school principal for Sheldon (Iowa) Community School District. She also has seven years of experience teaching 1st-grade students, 7th-grade language arts, and 5th- and 6th-grade at-risk students. As principal, she has led her school to a commendable rating on the Iowa School Report Card; proficiency ratings of 90% in science, 90% in math, and 83% in reading on Iowa Assessments; an average daily attendance rate of 97%; and the successful bond vote and construction of a new school building.
Barwick earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Iowa State University, a Master of Education degree in educational leadership from ISU, and a education specialist, superintendent certification from the University of South Dakota.
