Step-by-step guide for admission  For international students

Becoming an international student at Northwestern College begins with your application for admission and ends with your arrival on campus. Follow these steps, and let us know if you have any questions:

  1. Apply for admission. Complete Northwestern's online international student application. Then submit your academic transcripts and college entrance exam and/or English proficiency tests.

  2. Claim your financial aid. Generous merit- and need-based financial aid pays more than 50% of all international students' billed expenses. Northwestern offers an excellent education, but we do not offer "full-ride" scholarships.
  3. Submit your enrollment deposit. Send Northwestern your required financial forms, as well as a $5,000 deposit.
  4. Get your travel documents. Once we have your documents and deposit, we will issue you an I-20 Form and provide you with the steps to apply for a student visa.

  5. Join the Northwestern College community. You will receive your housing assignment, get registered for classes, make travel arrangements, and take part in an international student orientation prior to the start of the semester.
