In his years as a student, researcher and teacher, Dr. Singh has discovered that the study of science can answer the question of how, but that Christian theology provides reasoning to understand the question of why. “Both give answers to different questions, yet they are connected, not separate.”
Movement researcher
Dr. Singh’s research has been focused on biomechanical movement, related especially to quantifying muscle coordination strategies when assistive technologies are used to mediate gait disorders. He views such scientific studies as attempts to carefully explore God’s creation and to unravel the mysteries behind his great design. “My research and teaching ethics reflect my Christian ideology. I aim to support scientific facts and ideas and their relationship with divine purpose.”
Master scholar
His master’s degree and doctoral work were completed at the University of Arkansas, Little Rock. Dr. Singh’s research experience includes work at North Carolina State University/University of North Carolina and at the University of Minnesota. He has also worked as a research intern at Northwestern University in Chicago. Dr. Singh’s published work has appeared in top international journals.
Respectful Christian
While his faith forms the foundation for his thinking and helps to shape his research, Dr. Singh believes scientific exploration demands openness to challenges. Those who approach a question with different notions and ideas are to be treated with respect. “I am to defend my Christian beliefs with humility and patience. Truth should not fear any test.”
Active
When he’s not in the classroom or lab with students, Dr. Singh says he often pursues his two favorite forms of working out—the first being problem-solving research projects and the second being physical exercise. He also enjoys music, hiking, social dance events, cricket and gaming (Xbox and/or PlayStation).
