Life goals
Once a shy high school student, Logan enjoys connecting with friends in his dorm and across campus. Among his favorite Northwestern memories is taking part in a mission trip to Louisiana, which deepened his faith. Involved in activities from Theatre Production Ensemble to pickleball, Logan plans to work in industrial manufacturing after his time at NWC and save to purchase a house.Spiritual and personal growth
Chapel, music and good speakers have strengthened my faith. In D-Groups, we are currently reading Lamentations, and the discussions have helped me grow as a man.
Welcoming
If you are a person like me who has an intellectual disability, I say you should come here! NEXT is a Christian program, and everyone is so friendly. I love the monthly outings we do as a program. Last month, we went out for ice cream and bowling with our mentors.
Increased independence
I feel like I am more independent now, since my parents are eight hours away. I have grown in my confidence. In high school, I used to be really shy, but you probably can’t tell that now.
Accountability
The NEXT staff hold me accountable, making sure I’m practicing my cello and getting all my homework done. John also meets with me every week to work on goals and life skills.
