A helping heart
Lilia’s heart for justice thrives in the social work major, where she finds opportunities to grow and make a difference. As vice president of the Social Work Club, Lilia raises awareness across campus on issues such as domestic violence and mental health. She also serves on the executive council for the Women in Leadership Club, which seeks to empower women in the workplace, their churches and communities. A theatre minor, Lilia has delivered award-winning performances.Uplifting
The social work major strives to teach you all the facets of social work so you can discover your strengths. It is a program that uplifts and encourages you not only to be a great social worker but a great person and child of God.
Growth through dialogue
I have been challenged and encouraged and have felt my faith become my own. I have been able to ask a lot of hard questions and have been in good theological dialogues with professors and students alike.

Professors care about our academic success but also care deeply about who we are as people. It is such a joy to be in a place where the people you are learning from care about you on an individual level.

I would encourage prospective students to choose Northwestern because of how important it is to grow alongside fellow believers and have mentors pour into you both in your studies and personal life. You get to pursue the Lord, a career, hobbies and intentional relationships, all in the same place.
