Northwestern College offers visit opportunities for prospective students

Two prospective students are greeted by a Northwestern admissions counselorNorthwestern College invites high school and transfer students to visit campus during the 2022–23 school year. Both individual visits and Raider Days (group visit days) serve as an introduction to the college for prospective students.

High school juniors, seniors and their parents are invited to Northwestern’s Raider Days, which provide information and firsthand experiences for students who are in their college search. Dates for this school year’s Raider Days include Sept. 23, Oct. 7, Nov. 4, Dec. 2 and Jan. 27.

While Spanish translation is available upon request for every visit opportunity, a special Raider Day for Hispanic students and their parents, Latino Raider Day, will be held March 3. A STEM and Health Professions Raider Day will be held Oct. 21 and a Nursing Raider Day will be held Feb. 10. Theatre Raider Days will take place Nov. 4 and April 21. Raider Days tailored specifically for high school juniors will take place on March 24 and April 28.

Raider Days begin with registration at 8:15 a.m. and conclude between 2 and 3 p.m., depending on individual appointments with professors or coaches. During the day, students and their parents will tour Northwestern’s campus, attend chapel, eat lunch in the cafeteria, and learn about academic and student life at Northwestern. They will also have the opportunity to hear about specific academic programs, financial aid and co-curricular activities. Students have the option of staying in a dorm the night before or after a Raider Day.

Students are also welcome to set up an individual, personalized visit to Northwestern most weekdays or select Saturdays. Students can register online at nwciowa.edu/visit for any type of campus visit. “Our goal when hosting students and families is to provide an exceptional on-campus experience. We want each person to leave here with a true picture of who we are as a campus community,” says Lori Zomermaand, director of admissions. “It’s also imperative we give them what they need to discern their next step in the college search process. What does it mean to be a Raider and lead a life of significance? Join us for a visit to find out more!”
