Northwestern Scholarship Auction raises $35,000

The 34th annual Northwestern College Scholarship Auction, held Feb. 11, raised about $35,000. Proceeds will help fund student scholarships.

Around 400 community members attended the event, which included a scrambled eggs and pancake breakfast served by American Legion members.

Bids were submitted on nearly 400 items. Those that secured generous bids included a PGA golf tournament package, Minnesota Twins tickets, a vintage Coke machine, and home-baked pecan pies.

“The Scholarship Auction is a beloved tradition for the greater Northwestern community,” says Northwestern event coordinator Aletha Beeson. “People enjoy the food and fellowship and the friendly bidding competition as well as knowing all the money raised supports Northwestern students.”
