Northwestern faculty participate in Seminar in Christian Scholarship

Two Northwestern College faculty members spent three weeks in July attending a Seminar in Christian Scholarship sponsored by Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Dr. Randy Jensen, associate professor of philosophy, and Dr. Mike Kugler, professor of history, were among 12 scholars chosen to participate in “Biblical Studies Across the Curriculum: Discerning Scripture for the Disciplines.” The seminar gives college faculty solid skills in biblical interpretation with the goal of impacting how they think about and teach their field.

The seminar was led by Dr. James Smith, an associate professor of philosophy at Calvin College, and Dr. Richard Middleton, an associate professor of biblical studies at Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester, N.Y. It was funded in part by a grant from the Lilly Fellows Program in Humanities and the Arts at Valparaiso (Ind.) University.
