Turnwall lobbies for National Writing Project funding

Barb Turnwall, assistant professor of English, was among a contingent of Iowa Writing Project and Eastern Iowa Writing Project site leaders who joined educators from 40 states in Washington, D.C., on April 7 to promote continued funding for the National Writing Project and local and regional writing projects.

Turnwall visited each of the seven Iowa legislative offices, sharing evidence of the effectiveness of the Iowa Writing Project in strengthening students' writing skills.

She also attending the National Writing Project's spring conference while in the nation's capital.
