Chris Jelken joined Northwestern as an advancement officer after working for three years as an advancement coordinator for Inspiration Hills Camp and Retreat Center in Inwood, Iowa. In that role, he oversaw fundraising for Inspiration Hills; built relationships between the camp and partner churches, business and individuals; and raised year-round support for the camp's general budget, projects and scholarships. Prior to that role, he was a graphics project manager for CFPromo/I29 Sports in Orange City for a year and spent three summers as a camp coordinator and challenge course coordinator for Inspiration Hills.

Chris is a Northwestern College graduate with a bachelor's degree in international business administrator. As a student, he was the captain of the men's tennis team, a member of the Athletic Band, a discipleship group and Spring Service Partnership team leader, and a student ambassador for the admissions office.
