As director of Northwestern’s NEXT Program, John Rundquist oversees a program that educates and mentors college-aged students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. A Northwestern graduate, he earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with endorsements in reading and coaching. He also holds a master’s degree in education from Saint Mary’s University and special education licensures from Bethel University. John brings more than 25 years of experience as a special education teacher, most recently at Osseo Senior High School in Minnesota, where he supported students’ academic, behavioral and social-emotional needs and led IEP development, evaluations and transition planning. He also served as head coach of Osseo’s cross country and track and field programs.
