John Menning

John Menning coordinates Northwestern NEXT, a program that helps students with intellectual or developmental disabilities transition to independent living, a job and adulthood. He worked as a special education teacher for 32 years and has taught at the college level as an adjunct professor. He also served on a parent/educator state committee to better facilitate communication and relationships between educators and parents of special-needs children. Prior to assuming his current position, Menning served for nine years as Northwestern's disability service provider, helping provide students with accommodations and access to the college's educational programs, activities and facilities. He is a graduate of Grand Canyon University and earned a master's degree in special education from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
