Iowa Private College Week Aug. 1-5
Northwestern College and 28 other private colleges are participating in Iowa Private College Week, Aug. 1–5. All prospective students who visit Northwestern's campus that week will have their application fees waived—and get a kickin’ new NWC T-shirt.

Faculty active in summer research
Many Northwestern professors are taking advantage of the summer months to work on research projects. Eleven faculty members are conducting research with the aid of NWC funds.

Twenty-six Northwestern students are spending their summer on short-term mission experiences as members of the college’s Summer of Service (SOS) team.

Sixteen Northwestern students are currently studying in Mexico, led by Spanish instructor Piet Koene.

Lovas accepted to writing workshop
Jeannine Lovas, a 2004 writing & rhetoric and communications graduate, has been accepted to an exclusive writing workshop at Windbreak House, hosted by author Linda Hasselstrom on her ranch near Hermosa, S.D.

Northwestern has hired Dr. Ruth Dankanich Daumer, chairperson of the nursing department at Briar Cliff University since 2000, to direct the development of a planned new baccalaureate degree in nursing program.

Northwestern’s athletic training education program became accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs on May 23.
