Study abroad

Education majors can fit a semester or summer study abroad experience into their course plans. Northwestern offers study abroad programs in Oman, Romania and dozens of other countries around the globe. Education students have even student taught abroad in countries like Guatemala and Jamaica. Learn more


Denver Urban Semester

Spend a semester in Colorado while you intern at a ministry or nonprofit organization that serves Denver residents impacted by poverty and oppression. You’ll also live in community with other students in the program and choose from classes taught by staff at Mile High Ministries. Learn more


Romania Semester

Northwestern’s semester in Romania might fit your educational goals. Participants partner with New Horizons Foundation, an organization that uses adventure education and service learning to help Romanian teens learn responsibility, teamwork and trust. Learn more


Mission opportunities

If you’re mission-minded, you can volunteer as a teacher, aide or tutor on campus, in the community or around the world. Northwestern’s exemplary campus ministry program includes English and subject-area tutoring for area children, including Hispanic students. Or take a 10-day or 10-week mission trip overseas to work with children and teach ESL or Vacation Bible School. Learn more
