Minnick elected to CPI leadership

Bill Minnick, Northwestern College’s director of career development, has been voted president-elect and secretary of the Career Professionals of Iowa (CPI).

A member of the organization since 1999, Minnick will serve on the executive committee for the 2015–16 year in his new role. Next spring he will transition into the position of president for the 2016–17 academic year, providing leadership to the organization as it strives to enhance career development for all of Iowa’s college students.

“It is an honor to be elected by my peers to a statewide leadership role. I look forward to continuing the CPI’s excellence in leading and facilitating the career development of college students throughout all the institutions of higher education in the state of Iowa,” says Minnick. “Having over 20 years of career development experience, I believe I can provide strong direction and move the organization forward as we offer professional development opportunities for career professionals.”

Minnick’s new responsibilities will include chairing executive board meetings, planning the annual conferences, documenting meetings and leading the organization’s annual business meeting.

Minnick became Northwestern’s director of career development in 1999 after serving as assistant director of career services at the University of Sioux Falls for four years. He earned a master’s degree in educational psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a bachelor’s in psychology at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
