Accounting Faculty

Northwestern College, in partnership with a local professional services and accountancy firm, invites applications for a full- or shared part-time faculty position (open rank) in our business and economics department to begin August 2024. Part-time applicants (and full-time applicants if they so choose) will have opportunity to continue to practice in an area of their specialty as a member of this local firm. The successful candidate will teach courses in accounting. The teaching load for the position is 24 credit hours per academic year, normally three courses each semester, along with expectations for scholarship and service. Fractional teaching arrangements will be made for candidates interested in a part-time shared arrangement.

Required Qualifications: Candidates must hold a CPA license and a master’s degree and demonstrate effective teaching in the areas of accounting. Individuals with significant experience and a B.A. degree may be alternatively qualified.

Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral degree in the field of expertise. Hiring preferences will be shown to those with experience in higher education and years of relevant experience in the discipline. A commitment to in-person, undergraduate teaching and mentoring is a must.
