Ten Northwestern College students will spend a portion of their summer as short-term missionaries through the college’s Summer of Service (SOS) program. They will spend three to nine weeks volunteering with mission partners in Central Asia, Europe, Ghana, Louisiana, Romania and Tanzania.

Adults and young people interested in learning how to paint or in developing their artistic talent are invited to sign up for a summer workshop or camp offered by Northwestern College’s art department.

Northwestern College students will travel to Greece and England this summer as part of two study abroad programs offered by the college’s off-campus study office.

Northwestern College will break ground for the second phase of renovations to the Bultman Center for Health, Physical Education and Intercollegiate Athletics at 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 9.

Northwestern College will award degrees to a record 399 students during its annual commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 11.

Northwestern College will host a summer theatre camp for high school students Monday through Thursday, June 24–27.

Jackie Davis, a fundraising professional with 23 years of experience in every area of higher education advancement and a Northwestern College employee since 2010, has been named Northwestern’s vice president for advancement following a national search.

Russ Adams, the retiring superintendent of the MOC-Floyd Valley Community School District, has been named to two leadership positions at Northwestern College. He will serve as director of the Master of Education program in educational administration and as assistant director of the Center for Innovation & Leadership.

The Northwestern College music department will present a series of concerts in April and early May, featuring music from the Women’s Choir, Jazz Band, Symphonic Band, Orchestra and Trombone Ensemble. The concerts will be held in Christ Chapel and are free and open to the public.

Northwestern College’s theatre department will present William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” April 12, 13, and 18–20 in the DeWitt Theatre Arts Center’s Allen Black Box Theatre. The show will begin at 7:30 each of those evenings; there will also be a 2 p.m. matinee on Saturday, April 13.
