Northwestern named among best value colleges

Northwestern College has been named among the nation’s 50 Best Value Christian Colleges and Universities by Christian Universities Online.

An independent resource for students and families researching Christian higher education, www.Christianuniversitiesonline.org publishes a variety of rankings and reviews. The 50 Best Value Christian Colleges and Universities list seeks to focus on institutions’ net tuition cost and the juxtaposition of quality with affordability. It uses data from the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics and follows the methodology employed by U.S. News and World Report.

The site’s write-up about Northwestern highlights the college’s low student-to-faculty ratio and high retention and graduation rates. No other colleges from Iowa, Nebraska or South Dakota are included in the rankings.

“This honor affirms that Northwestern College offers our students a tremendous value,” says Kenton Pauls, dean of enrollment management. “This is another third-party validation, along with our ranking as one of the ‘50 Great Affordable Colleges in the Midwest’ by GreatValueColleges.net earlier this year. These recognitions underscore the benefits students receive from a Northwestern education: the building of their minds and Christian faith in a tight-knit community as well as outstanding job placement after graduation. That we are so affordable after financial aid is often a surprise to new students.”

Northwestern is also ranked on the list of 50 Christian Colleges Exceeding Expectations developed by Christian Universities Online. That rating is based on colleges’ predicted and actual graduation rates.
