Northwestern College invites applications for a tenure-track or professor-of-practice faculty position in marketing beginning August 2019 (January 2019, if possible).
Ph.D. or D.B.A. in marketing or a closely related field is expected for tenure-track candidates (ABDs will also be considered). Hiring preference will be given to persons with practical business experience, who envision involving students in project-based, active learning and data analysis. Professionals with a master’s degree and significant work experience are also encouraged to apply as professor-of-practice track candidates.
The successful candidate will teach introductory marketing courses, as well as advanced courses in the areas of marketing research, retailing and services marketing, and the candidate’s field of interest. The normal teaching load is 24 hours per academic year. The department is especially interested in candidates who can work collegially and effectively with others, in addition to carrying out scholarly or professional engagement, student advising, and faculty governance responsibilities.
The candidate will exhibit a love of Christ and an embrace of the Gospel, and support the college’s mission as expressed in our Statement of Christian Identity, Vision for Learning and Vision for Diversity. Northwestern College is an evangelical and ecumenical institution affiliated with the Reformed Church in America. We seek faculty invested in teaching, scholarship and the pursuit of excellence in the Christian liberal arts. Accordingly, Northwestern College seeks to more fully reflect the cultural and ethnic diversity of the body of Christ in its faculty, staff, administration and students. Women and candidates from historically underrepresented groups are enthusiastically encouraged to apply.
To apply, interested candidates should send a letter of interest in which you describe (1) your teaching experience; (2) your scholarly trajectory; and (3) how the following statements would inform and shape your teaching and scholarship: our Statement of Christian Identity, Vision for Learning and Vision for Diversity. Candidates should also send a curriculum vita and complete the online application below.
Materials should be addressed to Dr. Mark Husbands, VPAA, and sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
