Maintenance Assistant and Freight Handler
Northwestern College’s maintenance department has a full-time opening available immediately for a maintenance assistant/freight handler. The assistant in this 12-month position is responsible for checking in and inspecting incoming freight, delivering supplies to housekeepers and supply closets, repairing vacuums, and inspecting roofs for needed repairs. This position will also supervise work-study in the men’s dorms. Additional responsibilities include setup for events, general repairs in buildings, snow removal, and being on a rotation for after-hour service calls and emergencies.Experience operating off-road equipment such as skid loader, forklift, scissor lift, man lift, etc., is preferred.
Prior custodial and supervisory experience is preferred. Candidates must have the ability to perform physically demanding work and be able to regularly lift 20 to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds.
