Northwestern College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor in the Department of Nursing to begin spring 2017.
Applicants must have a master’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of RN experience. The ideal candidate will hold an earned Ph.D. (or equivalent) with an established record of scholarship. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in classroom teaching, research, clinical experience as an RN/ARNP, and who hold (or are working toward) an earned doctorate.
Candidates must be able to teach undergraduate nursing courses and associated clinical in (1) community/public health and (2) mental health. The faculty member will also engage in research, advise students, serve on campus-wide committees, and fully participate in departmental assessment, reaccreditation and planning work.
The college’s BSN program is approved by the Iowa Board of Nursing and is accredited by CCNE. Additionally, the online RN-BSN completion option has two cohorts of students in place.
The successful candidate will have an authentic Christian faith; interest in teaching within a theology of nursing framework; and support the college’s mission and identity as expressed in our Vision for Learning, Vision for Diversity and Christian identity statement.
