Computer Science

Northwestern College invites applications for a full-time faculty position in computer science. Depending on qualifications, a candidate may be eligible for a tenure-track position. The successful candidate can expect to teach a variety of courses that contribute to the undergraduate computer science and software engineering curriculum, as well as courses that contribute to other academic programs. The teaching load for this position is 24 hours per academic year, along with expectations for scholarship and service.

Required Qualifications: Candidates must hold, or be willing to pursue, a graduate degree in computer science or a closely related field and be able to demonstrate effective teaching in the discipline. Candidates will exhibit a love of Christ, an embrace of the Gospel, and support the college’s mission as expressed in our Statement of Christian Identity, Vision for Learning and Vision for Diversity. Preferred Qualifications: Preferred candidates will bring enthusiasm, experience and energy in the field of computer science. Hiring preference will be given to persons with teaching experience or extensive field experience. Persons with experience or knowledge in an area of cybersecurity, data science or software engineering are a plus.
