Northwestern College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics or Mathematics Education to begin August 15, 2022. The successful candidate can expect to supervise student teachers, teach courses for the department’s majors and in service to other programs and the college’s Core, help prepare future teachers for successful careers, engage in productive scholarship, and contribute to the health of the college through a variety of service roles including advising. The teaching load is 24 credits per year.

Required Qualifications: Candidates must hold a graduate degree in mathematics or mathematics education and demonstrate effective teaching in mathematics. They will exhibit a love of Christ, an embrace of the Gospel, and support for the college’s mission as expressed in our Statement of Christian Identity, Vision for Learning and Vision for Diversity. Northwestern College, affiliated with the Reformed Church in America, seeks faculty invested in teaching, maintaining a program of scholarly activity, and embracing our mission of excellence in the liberal arts as a vital expression of our commitment to Christ’s redemptive work in the world.

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred candidates will bring enthusiasm, experience and energy to the classroom and to the development of future mathematics teachers. Hiring preference will be given to persons with a Ph.D. or Ed.D., experience teaching at the secondary and collegiate levels, and experience integrating technology in the classroom. Research interests that could incorporate student researchers would be a plus.
