Northwestern College invites qualified applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in physical education in the kinesiology department to begin August 2022. An initial appointment would be at assistant or associate professor, commensurate with experience. The successful candidate can expect to teach courses primarily in the areas of physical education and health. The teaching load for this position is 24 credit hours per academic year, along with expectations for scholarship and service (advising, committee and departmental work, etc.).
Required Qualifications: Candidates should hold a graduate degree in physical education or a related field. Candidates will exhibit a love of Christ, an embrace of the Gospel, and support the college’s mission as expressed in our Statement of Christian Identity, Vision for Learning and Vision for Diversity. Northwestern College is affiliated with the Reformed Church in America. We seek faculty invested in teaching, a program of scholarly activity, and the mission of excellence in the liberal arts as a vital expression of commitment to Christ’s redemptive work in the world.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred candidates will bring enthusiasm, experience and energy in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students in the discipline of physical education. They will be engaged in their research and scholarly agenda with a strong possibility of including students. Teaching experience in K-12 settings is also highly desirable.
