Accounting

Northwestern College invites applications for a full-time, open rank faculty position in accounting to begin January or August 2022. The successful candidate can expect to primarily teach courses in financial accounting, cost accounting, entity tax and law, and individual income tax. The teaching load for this position is 24 credit hours per academic year—normally three courses each semester—along with expectations for scholarship and service.

Required Qualifications: Candidates must hold a CPA license and a master’s degree, and demonstrate effective teaching in the area of accounting. Individuals with significant experience—over 10 years—and a bachelor’s degree may be alternatively qualified. Candidates will exhibit a love of Christ, an embrace of the Gospel, and support the college’s mission as expressed in our Statement of Christian Identity, Vision for Learning and Vision for Diversity. Northwestern College is affiliated with the Reformed Church in America. We seek faculty invested in teaching, a program of scholarly activity, and the mission of excellence in the liberal arts as a vital expression of commitment to Christ’s redemptive work in the world.

Preferred Qualifications: Preferred candidates will bring enthusiasm and practical knowledge to the job.  Hiring preferences will be shown to those with experience in higher education and years of relevant experience in the discipline. A commitment to in-person, undergraduate teaching and mentoring is essential.
