Physician Assistant (2 positions)
Northwestern College invites applications for full-time faculty in the developing physician assistant (PA) program to begin August 2019. The persons hired to the position will have the option to be tenure-track or professor of practice. The candidates must be PAs, allopathic physicians or osteopathic physicians who are licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Iowa (licensure will be required upon hiring). PA candidates must have current NCCPA certification and physician candidates must have current specialty board certification.
The successful candidates will work with the program faculty to develop, implement and assess the didactic curriculum for the PA program. These persons will be responsible for teaching in areas of their expertise including individual, lab and team-taught courses. These persons will serve as faculty advisers to PA students and will work with the PA faculty team to select students for the program, perform self-study for accreditation, network on behalf of the program, and evaluate student progress in developing essential skills for PA practice. Candidates must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with experience educating PA and/or medical students.
