Student to present vocal recital

Northwestern College junior Sarah Fisher of Aplington, Iowa, will present a vocal recital on Sunday, April 18, at 3 p.m. in Christ Chapel. Admission is free, and the public is invited to attend.

Fisher will perform 18 songs in English, German, French and Italian. A variety of music will be performed, including Baroque, Romantic German lieder, French, African-American spirituals, and works by composer Vaughn Williams. Fisher will be joined by Lori Vande Brake, staff accompanist, on the piano. The recital will include Che Faro Euridice from an Italian opera, Seit Ich Ihn Gesenen by Schubert, L’Heure Exquise by Hahn and Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child, arranged by Burleigh.

“I’ve been working for a few months on this recital,” says Fisher. “The most exciting thing will be performing for all my family and friends.”

Fisher is a vocal performance major and theatre minor who is a member of the A cappella Choir. She is also a vocal tutor, an accompanist for the music department and actively involved in theatre productions.
