Three Northwestern College students have been chosen from applicants across the country to participate in National Science Foundation-funded Research Experience for Undergraduates programs this summer. Each program provides students with a stipend and living expenses.
Brett Boote, a junior chemistry major from Hull, Iowa, will do chemistry research related to photodynamics and nanoscience at the University of South Dakota. His program runs from May 28 through July 30.
Candace Gross, a junior from Parker, S.D., who is majoring in psychology, has been accepted into the research program at Western Kentucky University. She will work with Dr. Anne Rinn on gifted-student research from June 6 through July 28.
Amy Vander Holt, a junior psychology major from Parkersburg, Iowa, will be conducting research at Oklahoma State University. She will work with Dr. Marie Dasborough, studying the emotional intelligence of leader and follower roles from May 20 through July 16.
