Amanda Wright, a junior public relations major at Northwestern College from Oakland, Iowa, has been named the 2008 winner of the annual “Donate 4 Life” T-shirt design contest for the Siouxland Community Blood Bank (SCBB).

Wright's design was selected from entries submitted by high school and college graphic arts students across Siouxland. She was awarded a $200 U.S. savings bond along with a certificate and a dozen T-shirts for her to share with friends and family.

“This year, we wanted the shirt to match up with our ‘Be a hero’ campaign, and Amanda nailed the concept,” says Tim Hess, SCBB director of marketing. “This design will help us recognize our regular donors as the heroes they truly are.”

Blood donors who make four donations in a calendar year are rewarded with a free T-shirt featuring the design.
