Worship ministry

At Northwestern, students worship with the same enthusiasm they bring to their studies and socializing. Students with musical and other worship leadership gifts lead a packed house during weekday chapel and on Sunday nights. In fact, Northwestern’s Sunday night Praise & Worship is one of Orange City’s most popular worship services.
  • Worship interns assist with chapel service planning, seeking ways to integrate the arts (music, theatre, visual arts, written and spoken word) more fully into chapel worship.

  • Chapel worship team members participate in Tuesday chapel worship services. The ensemble of vocalists and instrumentalists leads hymns and praise songs. There also is opportunity for students on this team to provide special music, lead in prayer, read Scripture and manage PowerPoint® presentations.

  • Sunday night Praise & Worship team members lead worship in Christ Chapel at 9 p.m. every Sunday night. The team includes vocalists and musicians to play guitar, piano, bass, drums and keyboard.

  • Church worship teams (two teams) travel to lead worship for local and regional congregations approximately twice a month. Church worship teams are a great opportunity for music ministry majors and other students who love music to get experience planning and leading worship, while also serving the needs of area congregations.
