Prayer
As a Christian liberal arts college that pursues excellence and wisdom in the classroom and beyond, Northwestern College is committed to prayer as the foundation of all learning.
To that end, faculty, staff and student prayer groups meet regularly—and spontaneously. Campus ministry staff host retreats that encourage solitude, reflection and prayer. And on-campus spaces like the chapel, a prayer room in the Franken Center for Faith, Learning and Living, and reflection rooms in some residence halls are set aside for prayer. But students are quick to add, “I feel like I can pray anywhere, anytime.”
In a recent survey, Northwestern students rated personal and group prayer as significant to their spiritual growth while at NWC. For more information about campus prayer and prayer groups, contact Barb Dewald, associate dean of spiritual formation.
