Internships and experience for kinesiology students
Internships allow you to apply what you have learned in the classroom, sharpen your professional skills and discover what you have to offer when you later apply for a job. Internship opportunities are available near campus, close to your home or across the country.
Kinesiology students have interned in fields like athletic training, physical therapy, adult fitness, community recreation, therapeutic recreation, cardiac rehabilitation, wellness, health promotion, chiropractic care and corporate fitness.

- Iowa Methodist Hospital, Des Moines, Iowa
- Cran Hill Ranch, Rodney, Mich.
- The Fitness Center, Phoenix, Ariz.
- Crowne Plaza Resorts, Hilton Head Island, S.C.
- Health Fitness Corporation in Sterling, Texas
Experience. Valuable experience is also available through part-time jobs. Kinesiology students have worked as referees, coaches in area schools, fitness instructors and recreation department employees while attending NWC. Others have taught aerobics, Pilates, jump roping or other fitness classes on campus.
