For incoming freshmen
The following scholarships are available only to incoming freshmen. You can find additional scholarships available to both new and returning students by searching the scholarship database.
Boyd Maurice Reformed Church Scholarship
Established to honor Charles and Cordelia Boyd, this scholarship was funded by lifetime and estate gifts from the Boyds. It provides assistance to full-time incoming freshman students who are members of the First Reformed Church of Maurice, Iowa. More
Boyd MOC-Floyd Valley Scholarship
Established to honor Charles and Cordelia Boyd, these scholarships were funded by bequests from the estates of Charles and Cordelia Boyd. They provide assistance to full-time students who are graduates of MOC-Floyd Valley High School. More
Hebrews 12:1 Scholarship
This scholarship was established by David and Kay Wolf. Applicants must be incoming freshman student-athletes who demonstrate financial need and a sincere Christian faith and character. More
Luke Scholarship
This scholarship is funded by alumni and friends of Northwestern College whose careers are in the health science professions. One or more annually renewable scholarships are available to academically talented incoming students planning to enter one of the health science professions. More
Mathematics Department Scholarship
This scholarship was established by members of the mathematics department to promote excellence in mathematics at Northwestern College. It is awarded to an incoming freshman with intent to pursue a mathematics, mathematics teaching or actuarial science major at Northwestern College. More
McGilvra Music Scholars Program
This scholarship program was funded with a bequest from the Harold G. McGilvra estate. Seven $1,000 scholarships are awarded to incoming freshman students with a declared music major. More
MTC Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship program is funded by the Mutual Telephone Company Foundation. Several scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen whose families reside in the 722 telephone exchange area. More
Norman Vincent Peale Scholarships
The Norman Vincent Peale Scholarships were established in honor of Dr. Norman Vincent Peale by Homer and Margaret Surbeck. Each year a number of prestigious Peale Scholarships, each worth more than 50 percent of tuition costs, are awarded to incoming freshmen who exhibit high academic ability and who possess school, church and community leadership skills. Paul & Jennie Smith Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman student-athlete who intends to participate in the men’s soccer program. It is renewable provided the scholarship recipient continues to meet requirements. More
Tulip Court Scholarship
Funded by the Orange City Tulip Festival Steering Committee and Northwestern College, one-time scholarships are available to individuals chosen as Orange City’s Tulip Queen and those serving on the Queen's Court. More
Marcia Hubers Zwiep Scholarship
Established to honor Marcia Hubers Zwiep ’41 and ’43, this scholarship was funded by her husband, Donald N. Zwiep ’44, and their children. It is provided to incoming freshmen. More
