Touring performance groups
Northwestern College has been sending touring performance groups to churches for nearly 50 years. These groups offer wonderful and unique programs of worship and praise using music, drama and the spoken word that can either be part or all of a worship service or a separate program.
Northwestern has three groups that tour at various times of the year: the A cappella Choir, Symphonic Band and Northwestern Theatre tour group.
A cappella Choir
Northwestern’s 60-member A cappella Choir makes an annual tour during spring break or at another time during the spring semester, giving concerts in churches, schools and other similar venues. The group has performed extensively throughout the United States and, in the spring of 2004, traveled to the Czech Republic, Poland and Austria. In addition, the choir presents concerts on campus and in area churches throughout the year.

Symphonic Band
Northwestern’s Symphonic Band has represented the college in annual tours throughout most of the United States and to the countries of Ukraine in 1994 and Venezuela in 2001. In 2007, the ensemble performed in Mexico. Band tour concerts are held in concert halls, churches and schools and are scheduled during spring break or some other time during the spring semester. The Symphonic Band also presents concerts on campus throughout the year.

Northwestern theatre touring ensemble
This ensemble provides an excellent resource for churches interested in learning more about integrating drama into worship. Many of the company's original worship dramas are also appropriate for schools, theaters and other venues. The troupe gives performances locally throughout the year but has two national touring times: spring break and a more extended summer tour. The company has performed off-Broadway in New York City and at the Crystal Cathedral. They recently performed ancient Israelite dramas in Japanese churches and schools and enacted prayer on the streets of Chicago.
