Pastors Conference
Each year on the Tuesday following Easter, Northwestern College hosts a conference for area pastors and their spouses. The day of inspiration, renewal and fellowship features presentations by respected Christian theologians and scholars.
This year's Pastors Conference, scheduled for Tuesday, April 10, 2007, will be led by the Rev. Dr. Cornelius Plantinga Jr., president and professor of theology at Calvin Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Speakers for past conferences have included:
- Sociologist and author Dr. Tony Campolo
- Dr. John Piper, pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis and a leading theologian
- Songwriter, musician and speaker John Fischer
- Rev. David Mains, former co-host of the Chapel of the Air and originator of the 50-Day Spiritual Adventures program
- Dr. Bill Brownson, radio preacher with Words of Hope
- College professor and author Dr. Jerry Sittser
- Former Sen. Mark Hatfield
A typical agenda includes three plenary sessions with the conference leader, a noon luncheon, and break times with refreshments and fellowship. While there is no fee for attendance and all area pastors and their spouses are welcome, registration is necessary.
