Medical technology

The medical technology major is designed for students who want both focused medical/scientific training and a mind-broadening liberal arts education to be the foundation for their career. The program includes three years of college preparatory work at Northwestern and one year of clinical training at one of several hospital-based programs, culminating in a B.A. degree. Students also can choose to stay at NWC for four years before doing a year of clinical training and pursuing medical technology certification. Northwestern is affiliated with hospital-based schools of medical technology at Mercy Medical Center and St. Luke’s Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa, and at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.
