Chemistry facilities and labs
Unlike science undergraduates at large universities, Northwestern’s chemistry students have access to and are allowed use of all the equipment in Northwestern’s recently renovated science laboratories. Chemistry students regularly use an array of modern chemical instrumentation, including High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR), ultraviolet or visible spectroscopy (UV/VIS), and a new Fourier transform infrared instrument (FTIR).
