Chapel
Northwestern offers chapel services to students four times each week. It is a mini “Sabbath” in the academic schedule of the day. It is the only time that most of the campus community is together in one place. Chapel at Northwestern is about listening to God’s call to 1) be children of God, 2) be lifelong learners, 3) discover a vocation in God's kingdom, 4) learn about God’s world, and 5) be encouraged and not afraid. Chapel guests include nationally known speakers like Tony and Bart Campolo and Brenda Salter-McNeil, as well as Northwestern faculty, staff and students. Concerts and dramas also may take the chapel stage.
Chapel meets from 10:05 to 10:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and from 11:05 to 11:55 a.m. on Tuesdays. Students are expected to obtain 3 chapel credits each week; 5 credits or more are offered weekly. Many students earn more chapel credits than they are required to.
