Pre-medicine
Northwestern’s pre-medicine program prepares students for entrance into medical school and an eventual career as a physician, surgeon, osteopath or physician assistant. Medical research is another career possibility. Researchers typically work for universities, government agencies, state health agencies or industry, or in other related fields of scientific study such as anatomy, physiology, microbiology and genetics. Northwestern pre-medicine graduates have enrolled in M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. graduate programs across the United States, including Vanderbilt University and the universities of Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska.
