Study art abroad

Art students at Northwestern College say the people, landscape and weather of the rural Midwest offer plenty of inspiration for art students. And if you need a change? Go global. Julia LoVan ’03 studied under designer Zandra Rhodes at The Fashion and Textile Museum in London during her junior year. And Andrew Rorabaugh ’05 spent the fall semester of his senior year in Australia. Art students also can spend semesters in France, the Netherlands, Spain, Wales or elsewhere.

Or join other fine arts students in the month-long summer study abroad British culture course, led by NWC faculty every other year. The class—an exploration of British culture through art and theatre—takes students to London, Stratford, Malvern and Worcester. In addition to daily classes, students attend professional theatre productions and visit all the major galleries and museums in London.
