Art education major

K-6 endorsement in art
Requires completion of the art major for secondary majors. Elementary education majors may satisfy the requirements of this endorsement by completing the art minor.

Science courses (must include a biological and either a chemistry or physics course) 7-8
TOTAL CREDITS REQUIRED 32-47

K-6 and 7-12 endorsement in art
A student majoring in art, music, physical education or Spanish may acquire K-6 and 7-12 endorsements by completing the following:

  1. The art major
  2. The requirements for K-6 endorsement in art (see above)
  3. ART308 Methods of Teaching Secondary Art
  4. EDU311, General Methods in Secondary Education
  5. EDU416, Vertical Student Teaching. Both the elementary and secondary level of student teaching may be combined within the 12-credit requirement.

Students receiving the K-12 endorsement need one science course.
